First Buddha Stupa in Ukraine

The Sacred Kurgan of Peace - Stupa - is a perfect manifestation of all kinds of Life in the Universe and an ancient cosmological mysticism brought together. Being a sacred pivot it embodies a spiritual endowment

of the blessings of Buddha Shakyamuni upon our country.

Thanks to the endeavours of Reverend Roman Tourchin (a Buddhist monk who passed away

in April, 2008, as a result

of an incurable disease), the authorities of the Lugansk region in Ukraine allocated a plot

of land, squared 1,0 hectar, for the Sacred Kurgan of Peace - Stupa - to be erected over there. The location is situated on top a picturesque whitestone hill above the curve

of the Severskiy Donetz river in the Lugansk region.

Dedicated to the memory of Reverend

Roman Tourchin, a Buddhist monk,

and to the realization of his vows

“Millions and millions of stars

and constellations,

innumerable galaxies, interconstellar space, our planet alongside everything existing on it: grass, trees, stones – everything

is but one cosmic body of wisdom. This body of cosmic wisdom,

the body of the Buddha,

is enshrined in the stupa”.

With the realisation of this project we yield to highlight to the Ukraine a New Epoch of Unity and Harmony through our awakening to the origin of the Ukrainian spirituality - the culture
of the Scythians, which in Southern Asia flourished in the form of the Enlightenment of the Buddha and His eternal message of Peace.
